The 14th Street Plan: Keeping People Moving and Business Booming
The City is embarking on a visioning process to propose permanent transit, streetscape enhancements, and public space improvements along Manhattan’s 14th Street, from the Hudson River to the East River. NYC DOT is leading this effort in collaboration with the Meatpacking District Management Association (MDMA) and the Union Square Partnership (USP).
This process seeks to enhance the public realm by linking the corridors’ popular destinations, including parks, transit hubs, and institutions. This builds upon the past decade’s successful transit, bicycle network, and public realm improvements along this corridor.
The final vision plan will propose improvements that bolster the vitality of 14th Streets’ landmark neighborhoods, improving the quality of life and economic growth for decades to come.
